How to Connect Lonsdor K518 JLR AKL Cable?

 An extra JLR AKL harness is required when you are going to program 2015-2021 Jaguar Land rover HPLA JPLA K8D2 version all smart keys lost with active alarm using Lonsdor K518ISE.

 

Hers is the Lonsdor official all keys lost programming instruction including how to connect the JLR AKL harness with the vehicle and Lonsdor K518 device.

Function:

Attention

1. This function support key programming. Just directly connect the device to car OBD port to program. Dismantle FREE.
2. You can select Key Add or All Key Lost operations, Key Add will not delete the programmed keys, All Key Lost will delete the programmed working keys, the unlocked working keys can be re-programmed on current vehicle. For the locked working key, please make sure the key can be unlocked before programming, otherwise it will be deleted.
3. Must select the position with key ID to generate working key. It's actually replacing working key, not adding new key, so you can only select the position with key ID.
4. When the device prompts "The selected key position doesn't have key ID or valid data, you cannot generate working key here!", please change to the position with key ID.
5. When program the deleted key on AKL condition, if it prompts "Identified that the selected key position ID doesn't match current key ID, cannot generate working key successfully, please change the position and retry", indicate the key position is incorrect. Before program, you can identify the deleted key ID first and then select position with the same ID, or try to change to other postions until generation successful.
6. Must use Lonsdor dedicated key for Jaguar LandRover(JLR), or unlocked dealer key from car manufacturer or aftermarket key(programmed on current vehicle already), otherwise it will prompt "Failed to read and write data to key. Please check if the key or key chip is correct".
7. Lonsdor dedicated key has two frequency: 315 and 433MHz, select the corresponding Lonsdor dedicated key according to working key's frequency, the dedicated key will not be locked and is reusable.
8. The key generated by using Lonsdor dedicated key, share all the functions of working key. If the working key is added by dismantling KVM, there is no Emergency Start function, then the generated Lonsdor key will not has this function accordingly.
9. On AKL condition for JLR, car will under alarm status:(1) Part no.FK72: generate working key directly via OBD;(2) Part no.HPLA: connect JLR cable to generate working key. (3) Part no. JPLA: connect JLR cable to generate working key.
   (4) Part no. K8D2: connect JLR cable to generate working key.

10. Connection way of JLR AKL cable is shown below:

(1) Find CAN wire under driver seat

(2) Find the wire in below pics:

(3) Connection way is shown below, there is a twisted pair (CAN wire) under driver seat, one is yellow-red CANH, the other is yellow-purple CANL, connect the red hook (pin) to CANH, and connect the black hook (pin) to CANL. If the twisted pair is different in color, try to connnect the two hooks to different wires respectively, if communication fails, then change the connection order.

(4) JLR cable connection:

• Connect Lonsdor K518 with OBD cable
• Connect OBD cable to one end of the JLR AKL harness
• Connect JLR AKL harness the other end to vehicle OBD port
• Connect Black and red hooks (pins) to CAN wire under driver seat (images above)

(5) CAN wire is different in position for some vehicle models, cannot directly connect JLR cable under driver seat. Require to find KVM in trunk first, use L-JCD 2 in 1 cable to connect CAN wire. If using JLR cable, require to connect an extension cabble, then use two clamps to connect CAN. Shown in below pic:

JLR 2018-2021 OBD Key Programming Tips with Lonsdor K518ISE

Function: 

1. Copy and add smart key: copy and add key in the position of working key, and generate new key in the position of lost key.
2. All smart key lost: reprogram keys when all registered keys are lost.
3. Identify smart key: identify smart key ID.
4. Modify vehicle config: make it possible for low equipped keys to be programmed on high config vehicles.
5. Replace RFA: replace vehicle RFA module.
6. Write RFA initial data: if the replaced RFA chip has no intial data written, you can use this function to write data to the RFA.

Operation

Key Programming Procedure

High config vehicles with PSPS:

1. Add key when working key is available, vehicle is not in alarm state:JPLA ver: Replace RFA—> Modify vehicle config—> Copy and add smart key.K8D2 ver: Replace RFA—> Modify vehicle config—> Copy and add smart key, or modify vehicle config—> copy and add smart key—> Replace RFA.
2. On AKL condition, vehicle is in alarm state:Connect JLR cable well(refer to 'Attention'), then enter [All smart key lost] function menu, use Lonsdor JLR key to generate an emergency key, after generation press the remote's unlock button to disarm vehicle alarm state. After disarming the state, unplug the JLR cable. No need to connect JLR cable while replacing RFA and modifying vehicle config.JPLA ver: Replace RFA—> Modify vehicle config—> Copy and add smart key.K8D2 ver: Replace RFA—> Modify vehicle config—> Copy and add smart key, or modify vehicle config—> copy and add smart key—> Replace RFA.

Low config vehicles without PEPS:

1. Add key when working key is available, vehicle is not in alarm state:Enter [Copy and add smart key] function menu, use Lonsdor JLR key to add new key.
2. On AKL condition, vehicle is in alarm state:Connect JLR cable well(refer to 'Attention'), then enter [All smart key lost] function menu, use Lonsdor JLR key to add new key.

Copy and add smart key

1. This function can copy and add key in the position of working key, and generate new key in the position of lost key, please note:(1) For low config models without PEPS, the generated key function is complete, can be used directly. For high config models with PEPS, the key has RKE and Emergency Start functions ONLY (no PKE) after copy finished;(2) RKE function of the copied key will conflict with the working key in the same key position;(3) New key to be generated must be Lonsdor dedicated JLR(2018+) key.

This function is for AKL condition, please note the following points, use it with caution:(1) It will delete all working keys and doesn't support the lost keys to be re-programmed to the vehicle;(2) New keys must be Lonsdor dedicated JLR(2018+) key;(3) For low config models, it supports AKL programming (generate key directly). For high config models, require to use car manufacturer's diagnosis device to execute [Replace RFA] process first, and then modify car config (namely, disable UWB function), before using this function to do AKL;

   (4) High config models use this function directly when no config data modified, and the generated key has RKE and Emergency Start functions ONLY (has no PKE).

Replace RFA

1. This function is the programming process of replacing RFA module for JLR(2018+) models, pls note the following:(1) If current vehicle RFA is locked, [Replace RFA] process cannot be executed;(2) Confirm that current vehicle has installed brand new RFA module, or that the main chip of current RFA has been replaced with a brand new chip SPC560B60L3 and initial data has been written;(3) Vehicle battery voltage should be kept above 12V, otherwise exception may occur during programming, highly suggest that you plug external 12V DC to power up vehicle battery.

   (4) Pls prepare at least two keys which can be programmed to current vehicle.

   (5) In vehicle alarm state, pls disarm the alarm first before function execution.

Possible to Convert Xhorse Smart Key to 2019 Toyota RAV4?

 Question: I have 2019 Toyota RAV4, I need to convert a VVDI smart key to be programmed to the car. Can anyone help me to the right conversion on vvdi mini key tool?

1. Not Supported after 2018, you need OEM key. Now it is not supported, but maybe later (keep updating).

2. The cheaper option is to use KH100 + Lonsdor Board 0410b.

I give my feedback here:

Today I test on 2 SUV Toyota RAV4 and highlander Hybrid both 2021. Used the Lonsdor board 0410b and I emulated the start button using the KH100 to calculate data.

When emulating all door should be closed, use the board to gather the data off the start button. Press the start and hold the board near the button. The boards led light should blink when data is gathering.

 

Take the board to the KH100 that is on the net to transfer the data to get an emergency start. the whole thing takes less than 2 minutes.

Lonsdor K518ISE Program 2013 Toyota Prius All Keys Lost

 Today we have a 2013 Toyota Prius all keys lost and we have a logged key from the junkyard, so that’s a used key so we have to unlock this used key first with Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Max and then generate the key with Lonsdor K518ISE plus LKE Smart Key Emulator and then generate a key, to add a key.

 

So as you can see right here once I press start button, it says no key detected right here.

 

Okay so gonna go ahead and unlock the key first, either you can use your VVDI Key Tool Max or if you have Lonsdor K518ISE you can do it.

 

 

Part 1. Use VVDI Key Tool Max to Unlock Toyota Prius Used Key.

 

Let’s try VVDI Key Tool Max first and I’m going to this “Special Function”.

 

And “Unlock Toyota Smartkey” , so in order to see this is unlocked, make sure you have a good battery as you can see and you check the frequency and once it is unlocked it should have two flashes right here, we’re gonna do this like that, and we’re gonna hit “unlock”, soon unlock ok.

 

Part 2. Use Lonsdor K518ISE to Unlock Toyota Prius Used Key and add new key

So now we should go ahead and we use Lonsdor K518ISE very quickly and as we can do before with Lexus, this is a smart key we’re gonna go ahead and do “Immo & Remote” and Search “Toyota”, then “Select by type”, then “All smart key lost”, then “All key lost”.

We’re gonna do first “backup EEPROM data”, then tap “OK” to continue obtaining car data, about 3 minutes, It takes a bit little time, so just make sure that you have a good batteries. Once we have a dashboard light up we can add a key here very quick.

 

So all right, let’s give it a name, okay this is a 2013 and hit “OK” and then “OK” to make sure the input is correct.

EEPROM data backup success.

 

So now we’re gonna go ahead to make emulator key and use our Lonsdor LKE emulator. Open the key slot of K518ISE and put the emulator in and should have light come up when it comes “generate LKE”.

 

This function can generate an alternate master key when all the key are lost. This key can replace the original working key to turn on the dashboard to add key, click “OK”, and we already place key emulator into this device’s card slot as required, so click on “Ok”.

 

So the key emulator (LKE) should be bound first, it’s already done.

 

So let’s go ahead and load the above file, which is a “TOYPRIUS13.bin”.

 

Generating.

Count of keys:1 Key type:98, click “OK”

Once the key is generated, put the spare key close to the ignition, turn on the dashboard, and select ‘Add key’ function to program new key.

 

So this little junkyard is not programmed yet 2014.

The second step is we’re going to take out the emulator and put it close to the Start button, it should start.

 

So let’s go ahead and we’re gonna to “Add Smart key”.

Make sure smart key battery is full, insufficient power may cause program failure.

Put the emulator key close to the Start /Stop button, and then click on “OK”.

Count of the registered keys: 1

Count of the registrable keys: 6

Put the back side of the emulator key close to the Start / Stop button.

Put back of the key (to be registered) close to the Start / Stop button, when buzzer beeps twice, remove the key.

Operation completed!

And just one note before you unlock this used key with Xhorse Key Tool Max:

Make sure that the batter is good and you have a good signal.

And when you go back there “Remote Clone”, make sure you have a signal, okay 314.35 MHz, go ahead and read it.

 

And “transponder Clone”, place the key into the slot and read it.

Alright, it’s 4D.

 

The second step: since this key is used, it comes with a cut key, so like what we did before we’re gonna go ahead and get a code from the driver’s side or passenger side whatever the lock is and should be nice and easy, it shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes.

 As titled, here are easy steps to upload log data to Lonsdor K518ISE so their engineer could analyze your problem.

Step 1: after the k518 machine is turned on, let the machine connect to the network. If the machine is already connected, directly carry out step 2.

 

Step 2: press and hold the set key and return key in the red box in the figure below for several seconds.
